About LaFayette
Why Lafayette?
Lafayette or La Fayette, is from the Provençal words la faieta, meaning a beech forest. We at Lafayette Advocaten like to to visualize that and to help you find your way in modern woods.
But there is more.
Gilbert du Motier, Marquis de Lafayette historically was an accomplished French lawyer & commander, impacting on both Revolutionary France & the then newly-formed USA. Lafayette composed a draft of the Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the Citizen together with Thomas Jefferson. The Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the Citizen is, among other things, the basis of the Dutch Constitution of 1848. We at LaFayette Advocaten find that inspiring. What better, more international spirit can we invoke as we establish our new firm in such turbulent times?
Furthermore, our offices are situated next to a large shopping centre (not actually the Galleries Lafayette, but similar!). Always lively, creative and diverse.
